Back in Chicago after a long and stressful break.

Good things are going to come out of this semester, I can feel it.


Four online classes, nothing else to do during the day. Gotta find a job.

Management Group, and Club Party. Things are going to get insane.

Friday night was the Money tour in Milwaukee
The show was awesome The Morning Light opened it up and at first most people including myself had no idea who they were. By the end of their set though everyone was into it. Got to talk to the lead singer a little later in the night. Fran kept asking him to buy her a drink. Probably the worst person to ask since he knows his fan base is mostly younger kids. Cool guys all around, I still don't understand how he played his whole set in a sweater...I'd be dying.
The Maine, I didn't even watch. I can't stand their music. It's just too poppy for me if thats even possible. We went into the other bar and sat watching some local band whos name escapes me at the moment. They had what looked like a 12 yearold in their band. The whole band in general looked like a more emo version of the Jonas Brothers...no lie. The guys from The Maine however are cool guys, I just don't like their music.
Every Avenue was probably my favorite set of the night, the guys had a lot of energy and in general just looked happy to be there. We were up pretty close for them but of course I had a dark tower in front of me in the form of an overly sweaty boy. Ew.
Mayday Parade's entrance was epic, fucking epic during their set I made my way out though so I could smoke a cigg and watch the show with my friends.
All Time Low, third time seeing them, never dissapointed. I refused to be in the front for them, their fans are just something completely different and even though I love seeing everyones reaction and I love the energy sometimes its just too much. I stood in the middle with Catherine while Noreen and Fran were up front somewhere. Halfway through their set I started to get very light headed and dizzy. I needed air and fast, I ran over to the opening by the front entrance and still felt sick then ran to the bathroom. I sat on the ledge in there for about 15 minutes. Fran got some nice chick to donate a dollar to the "Make Anya stop shaking fund" and then Noreen got me some sugar. I was shaking for most of the 15 minutes in the bathroom, and as I sat their trying to calm myself down and hear ATL's set a mom came up to me asking if I was okay. This woman derseves some sort of award for her kindness to me. She bought me water and didn't want to leave my side until she was sure I was okay. She told me where I could find her if I needed her and gave me "mom hugs." She insisted on my going home after the show, and that I call my mom as soon as I could. All the symptoms I was having were that of a Diabetic attack, this is the second time this has happened to me now, and I'm a little worried. I just need to learn to keep my blood-sugar balanced and I'll be fine. I get tested next weekend, wish me luck and hope that this is all just a fluke.
Once I felt better we went upstairs to watch the rest of the set which was only five more songs...but still good. I went to say goodbye to the mom who's name was Katie she offered me more water, gave me a hug and then we said our goodbyes.

I still hold to, that the bands are there to entertain me, I'm not there to be their friends or talk to them about my life. We got back to the car blasted some Ratatat and drove around screaming DANCE PARTY at the kiddes who were waiting for the bands for 10 minutes before we got bored and went to McDonalds. It almost seems like routine with Fran and I that we have to dance outside of the car after a show...love it.
The GPS took us the most fucked up route...fuck those things. It took us an hour and a half to get home and it should have only been an hour


Saturday
Hoped on a train with Fran and Noreen to come back to the city. Showered then I was off to my Grammy U event with ATL at The House Of Blues. Watched their sound check which rocked, and then did a Q and A with them upstairs along with their Tour Manager and Manager. I was really surprised at home much the guys knew about the industry. I guess I figured they would let other people handle all the technical aspect of contract and publishing, but they were very aware of what they were doing. I guess I underestimated them. As much as these guys come off as goof-balls, they're very professional when they need to be.
They gave us free cd's we got to meet with them so they could sign them(felt bad they had just been signing for four hours) talk with them a bit more and talk with the managers, then they were off. We then got a full tour of HOB, which I fully believe is the most beautiful venue I've ever seen in my life. It's set up perfectly, and the stage itself is just amazing. Love the lightly system they have there. We walked around backstage for a bit, ran into the Every Avenue guys and the guys from The Maine(they were pretty cool about us invading their eating space) Saw the dressing rooms, all the sound boards...everything. House of Blues Chicago is officially my favorite venue out there...sorry Metro.

I don't understand any of this. Shouldn't it just be "Yes, I'm a fan on this band" Of course you're going to be irritated when someone knows your favorite band more then you, that isn't a reason to hate them. That isn't a reason to insult their personal lives, or try to bring them down in every sick way you can.
You're taking it to far when you use death as a way to hurt someone. How can you call yourself a decent person if you're doing anything you can to make someone else feel like shit?

It's people like you ruining the scene, you're the reason I hate going to shows at times. You're all so fucking hostel and brutal you take all the fun out of being a fan. I look at fans like this, if you like a bands music then you're a fan. It doesn't matter how long you've been listening to them, or how much you know about the members personal lives. In the end all that should matter is the music.

I keep hoping for the scene from five years ago to come back. When people had a certain amount of respect in them. Now, I swear to god its all about screwing over someone else. It's shit like this...

Honestly WHAT THE FUCK!? Who the hell do you think you are talking to another person like that? I don't know who either of you are, where you come from, what fucking music you like, or how old you are. Decent people do NOT talk to others like that.
I like this band, I think they are decent musicians, and I could care less about who they date, fuck, or who they're friend with. I don't give two shits. It's people like you though that make me hate being their fan. I've never been so ashamed to be apart of this scene then I am now. I don't want to be associated with it at all, not in this aspect. If you think insulting people is going to get you somewhere or is going to make someone in a band notice you, then you're right they will. It won't be for the reasons you want though.
I don't know if the conversation above was just a joke, but in any case it's heartbreaking.

You make me question why I want to be apart of this scene. The only hope I do have is seeing kids who are happy to be at a show, no matter what others might think about them. Even if their parents have to take them they aren't letting that stop them. They love it for the right reasons, they're there to have a good time...nothing else
A fan shouldn't be based on age, weight, style, location, or devotedness. It's not about that and it never has been. It's awesome if you've been to 100 shows, but its still really cool if you've only been to 3 and are planning on going to more.
Yes, its cool if you follow around the shitty local band and go to all their shows just to support them (I lied thats amazing) but that doesn't make you better then a new kid coming out to their show. It should make you happy that the band you love is going somewhere, that other people are hearing what you hear.
Like I said in my last blog, its about the heart. When we lose that what else do we have?
Music shouldn't be tearing people apart but bringing people together.
Not only are you being an asshole, but with every word you say you're ruining a scene that many before us have worked so hard to build. You're discrediting all the bands that put their blood, and sweat into the scene long before the bands you listen to now were even on radar.

Fuck you, for every kid who put on a benefit show and you never knew why. Fuck you, for every kid who started a record label to put out their friends bands because no one else believed in them. Fuck you, no this isn’t for you, this isn’t what this is about. Take your scene points, your fucking ironic fashion, and your name dropping, and your thinly veiled “oh but I know what your taking about,” back to the mall where no one will every question your integrity. And to those who know the smells of over heated vans, of unsuccessful bands. To those who put down their tear soaked words on paper and dare to sell them at shows, to those who try to raise money for a cause, to those who clap for the opening shitty band. To those who aren’t to cool to clap, to those who say thank you, to those without agendas, to those who welcome the new kids to those who extend a hand to explain, to those who make an attempt to give back and help this wonderful thing that we are all apart of grow.

Last night in class we had a woman come and speak with us about her experience in the music industry and how we can establish ourselves in the right way.
I've been having doubts about school, and the thought of quitting has been in my mind for months now. I just can't justify spending the amount of money I am on a major that isn't needed. Most tour managers haven't gone to proper school for it, most didn't even know their was a major for it.
This woman however answered all my questions and more in a matter of three hours. Every doubt I have in my head is gone, and now I know exactly where I'm supposed to be.
I knew going into this I would be risking everything, and still after it all...It's worth the risk. At the end of everyday I always envision myself doing the same thing. I can't picture working a 9 to 5 job sitting at a desk on computers all day. I know that might be one of the shitty steps along the way and I can deal with that, but for my life? Not so much.
I know they'll be times when I feel like giving up, and hell, people will give up on me. I just need to hold my head high through it all. Push through.

I'm reminded every time I go to a show why this is all worth it. It's the only time that I can actually say I'm truly happy. I'm in my element surround by others who are in theirs. I leave every show with a different story or a different memory that will always be with me. It's that four hours of not having to care about anything happening in the real world. It's in all honesty a false reality. I'm that girl at the shows that won't be right up front the whole time, who enjoys the pushing a shoving until I'm too sweaty to want to be touched anymore. I move with my friends to the back and dance there. You'd be surprised how much fun you can have in the back. Don't get me wrong I'm always up for pushing and shoving...but in the end when you're concentrated on pushing the bitch next to you, aren't you losing focus of why you're all really there?
It's the sweat.
It's the breakdown.
It's the people around you.
It's the drummers spastic face when he's throwing his arms down.
It's the lead singer leaning out into the crowd to touch the hands of his fans so they feel more connected.
It's the guitarist and bassists kicks and spins.
It's when you just get done dancing your heart out, and then the band plays a slow song.
It's the shit they say to hold your attention.
It's the hidden harmony's you don't hear on the albums.
It's when you're so crammed into a space, the jumping of the entire crowd pulls you off your feet.
It's the smoke breaks in between sets(not in Chicago anymore)
It's the passion.
It's the energy.
It's being their with your friends, having a good time.
It's forgetting.
It's sitting in the car driving home after the show with a smile on your face.
It's waking up the next morning and your body aches. That's how you know it was a good show.

I havn't updated in awhile.
Been busy with classes.

So I read my last post again and I want to apologize to the band I ripped apart. It was rude of me. With the way the scene is right now (especially in Chicago) I shouldn't be putting down bands for making the music that makes them happy. I should be applauding them for making music at all in an industry thats now money hungry.
I'm usually the person who will give every band a chance, and for some reason this didn't apply to them. So...I listened to their music a little more in depth. I listened to all the songs they had up on their Myspace a couple times and realized that...they arn't as bad as I made them out to be.
The biggest mistake I made was trying to get them out of pop punk. I'm tired of all the bands today sounding the same, it irratates me. These guys however are pop punk, it's just how it is. Pop punk music isn't meant to be complex, its supposed to have some cool breakdowns and lyrics that you can easily sing. This is what their music is. Their music is catchy and the lyrics are easy to sing. Every song sounds different, and despite my previous statement their members do know how to play their instruments and their vocialist is pretty good.
I will however say they need to get some better recordings.
I may be a judgmental person, but I know when to admit I was wrong. With that...here's their link, check out their music.



I really do think you should check out their music, no lie. One more downside, it doesn't look like they do shows out of New York. If you live there check out their live show and tell me how it is.


I went to a night of Neverender a few weeks ago and let me tell you something about Claudio Sanchez. The man is a genius. I couldn't even begin to describe the show. All I can say is the smile on his face the entire show made it worth while. He looked genuinely happy to be there and be playing the songs he loves so much. The crowd rocked, I love going to shows when the people are my age or older...no drama, no bullshit. If you ever get the chance to see Coheed live you better not let it pass you by, you won't be disappointed.

This Friday is my All Time Low show in Milwaukee, then I get to come back to Chicago for my Grammy U sound check with the guys and then a walk through of The House Of Blues. (If you're in college and your major has something to do with the music industry I highly suggest joining Grammy U it's $50 until you graduate or $25 a year. Check it out) I will not be at the Chicago shows, because I'm a poor college kid like that. I have one goal though and that is to meet their Tour Manager, lets make it happen. I'm stoked for Every Avenue and Mayday Parade, not so much The Maine...I just can't get into their music and believe me I've tried. It's not bad music, just not my thing.

Also, December 11th. A group of really cool kids and I are putting on a show at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago. I'll let you know the bands later, but it should be a great show. If you're around you should show all your pretty faces and come out.

Lately I've been getting more and more band requests on Myspace.
It used to be that I'd only add bands if they toured to Chicago often or were from Chicago, Wisconsin, or Indiana. Lately though since I don't use my Myspace for communication (Facebook), I'll use it to find new bands.
I actually go to the bands pages listen to their music; if they’re any good I’ll add them. I’m not going to add a band that I don’t like…it would be contradicting if I did. I also won’t add bands that I know I have no chance of seeing live. You can throw anyone into a studio and make them sound good even if they suck. If you sound good at a show I’ll continue to listen to your music. I’m not going to support your band if you suck.
Kudos to the bands that when they request you, actually take the time to write a little note personally to you (not the mass copy and paste pretending like you actually care what I think).
But when you request me and say that your band is something I would like I question…How the hell you do know what I like douchefluid? My profile is private, you can’t see my page therefore you couldn't even begin to know what I like.
Stupid.
I'm getting off track.
So basically I get really shitty 15 year old bands all the way to 35 year old men still trying to hold onto that teenage dream. On occasion though there are pretty good bands that request me.
These two bands actually deserve my add. Both of them reminded me of the first time I heard a pop punk band. It was a local band called Seventh Grade Underdog and ironically I was in 7th grade. They play the type of music you want to get up and dance to and you’re crazy if you don’t

The Bride Wore Black-
First song I checked out by these guys was Don’t Wake Daddy. It starts out with some drums and then the synth picks up then the guitar and bass come in and it sounds awesome. Without the synth these guys wouldn’t have a sound that I love so much. What makes me laugh most is that on their Myspace they put their music into Punk, Emotronic, and Happy Hardcore. I could go into a long rant about genres today, but that’s another entry. Eitherway, check them out, you wont be disappointed.


What Happen In Vegas-
Only thing I hate about this band is that whenever I go to their page, I have to be horribly reminded again that Blink-182 is a thing of the past from the vocalists tattoo.
First track I listened to was “Don’t Take This Personal.” With that song right when you think its going to sound like all the pop punk bands out there, the guitars pick up harder hooks and the vocalists voice turns slightly darker with the music. When I say “Dark” I just mean not as “pop” as usual.
Next song you have to check out by them is “My Words Wont Go Untold.” This songs starts out with the vocalist and a piano. It’s very mellow then the rest of the band comes in and it makes for a great alternative song. They actually take the time to harmonize, and let me tell you they do it very well.
A lot of bands now have great instrumentals but the vocals and lyrics are lacking, this band has no problem with either.
Cheers to these guys, better jump on them now…you wouldn’t want to be a “new” fan in a few years.




Now this last band I’m going to talk about is by far the worst music I’ve heard in my life. Fair warning, not only am I going to rip on their music like no other. I’ll also be ripping on their fan base. Sucky bands always come equipped with sucky fans.

Crush, The Everlasting-
Their name sucks, and every fan they have is between the ages of 12 and 16. This band is the exact reason why decent bands will never get signed. They make horrible music and still manage to get people to listen to them. Their music makes my ears bleed, and all the while I’m on the ground laughing. How can I possibly take you seriously when the opening line to one of your songs is “Hey boo, I like the way you to do those things you do” I’m a vocalist, and I take it as a personal insult that their lead singer is attempting to sing. The world has dumbed itself down so much that people can’t even write lyrics with actual words anymore! A lot of the music being produced today is shit, so we get used to listening to shit, and soon shit is all we know.
What hurts the most is that these guys get to open for Ace Enders. Fucking Ace Enders! That man is an amazing musician and can actually write lyrics with meaning behind them. He’s not some sad excuse for an emo kid in a poetry class…failing unlike the guys in this band.
Lucky for them though, they can be saved. Their music can be dragged out of the deep hole they’ve decided to throw it into. I’m not going to stay stop writing music, I encourage everyone who has a musical passion to go for…make a difference. These guys however need to take a little more time writing lyrics for themselves, and not for an audience. Once they realize that, then I’m sure they’ll be better.
As for now though, their nothing more then four boys bored with some guitars.
Sad thing is…they’ll get signed just because they suck that bad, attractive people sell records…isn’t that what it’s all about in the industry nowadays?
I’m not posting a link for them, because god help me I don’t think anyone should have to deal with their sound until they improve.

I promise I’m actually a decent person. When it comes to music though I can’t help but be judgmental. I’ve decided to make music my life and for the past two years have been spending a great deal of time learning about the music industry and how it works. I have a very different mindset on music now then I ever had before. I don’t just listen to the music I think of how it will sell and who it will sell to. I guess I just get upset and worked up when bands who aren’t all that great get the chance of a lifetime while bands who’ve worked their asses off get nothing.
Despite it all, even if bands are making shitty music I commend them for making music at all. For getting up on stage and playing to a crowd of 20 kids, for touring and putting their hearts into something they love. No matter how much I may dislike your music…you will always have my respect.

So I decided to take an adventure out of where I usually go on Buzznet. (Music New Section, and new Videos) I did a simple search on boy and girls ages 18-20 in Illinois and either Illinois has an abundance of scene kids and pedophiles or half of the profiles were fake.
This is still one style I will never understand. Why would you do your hair so it looks like something died on it? And last time I checked MiMi type makeup is fucking ugly! Why would kids wants to make their eyes look like deep holes of black sadness? huh?
The guys look like girls and the girls look like guys, I can't even tell the difference between gender with these people.

Like I've said before and I will continue to say this. I analyze a lot of people, I wouldn't call it judging because after I analyze them if that person were to come up and talk to me, I can almost guess they'd be a chill enough person.

So last night Sarah and I went to do our Venue Evaluation at the Subterranean.
We got there and went straight up stairs to grab a seat at the tables and start to fill out our forms, we got some looks just because it was obvious that we weren't there for the show, and I think people picked up on that. The sound guy there was amazing, he was a huge help. He let us up into the booth so we could take some pictures of the equipment and the board, and so we could ask him some questions. We want to be tour managers and we couldn't tell what the fuck they were talking about on the specs sheet.
Let me tell you sound guys should be given a pat on the back, because looking at the names and numbers and the sound board it just confused the shit out of me. Props to you, I have a completely new respect for you all.

It felt really good in all honesty, it felt like people we're taking us seriously. We weren't there for the show we were there to work, and just they way people approached us, it wasn't like we were fan girls.
One band however, made us feel kind of in the way. We stood in the back near the sound-booth so we could talk to the tech, and even though there was plenty of room for them to get over to their merch table they insisted on moving through a small opening next to us making us move over each time. I dunno, the guys all looked the same and seemed to have that same "I'm in a band move out of my way" look.
Sorry we weren't fawning over you like the 20 people that showed up to your show.

This class is amazing, and Monica is the best teacher I could ask for. If you're going to be around Chicago at all on December 11th, you should check out the show we're putting on at Reggie's. I promise it'll be a blast. We're all totally stoked for it.
I'll let you know the bands playing as soon as we figure that out..ha.

I love the cover by the way, Alex is really displaying his voice in such an awesome way. His falsetto!? Come on, the guy sounds amazing if you hate his band or not. I'm not a fan of Juilet Simms voice at all, but her voice with his...it's honestly sex to the ears. Overkill I know, but its just that good. 3OH!3 just makes it that much better.

So today my roommate Chelsey and I we're grocery shopping at our local Jewel.
Just making conversation like we always do, and one of us said the word "Retarded." A woman who had to be in her 40's came up to us all smiling and asked to talk to us, we agreed. She continued to tell us that in our conversation we said retarded more then once. She said that it was socially unacceptable and that it was immature of us. She said that people with special needs would find it offensive. Chels started to tell her that she has someone in her family who is special and to mind her own business. I backed her up telling the woman that it really was none of her business.
So apparently we're rude college kids.

and saying retarded nowadays in our generation is like saying gay. I've met many many gay people who don't care that I use the word as a synonym for stupid.
I do understand how it could be disrespectful, but this day in age, few things have one meaning.

They don't even deserve half a star.
A band that got their name out there by doing a cover of Soulja Boy got signed to epitaph? Fucked up. I'm wondering, how any record label could see any potential in these guys.

Maybe I'm just a judgmental bitch, but I fucking can't stand their band.

The Pink Spiders got some page space though, getting rated three stars for Sweat It Out. I've missed these guys, thank god for their new album. Which I happen to believe rocks.

Also can someone tell me why My Chemical Romance is still on the top readers chart? Hasn't that album been out for two years now?

3OH!3 I couldn't be more proud of you guys. Number 10 on the readers list :) People are finally taking notice to such a great band. These guys put on such a great show and know how to get a crowd going. If you haven't seen them live their tour starts on October 18th thru to December 14th, it looks like they're stopping just about everywhere. So spend that money wisely and check these guys out. If you don't have a good time at their show I'd be completely shocked.

I was going to update and do a new video today, but breathing through my nose is kinda necessary in order for someone to understand me.

Apparently Katy Perry is going to have a limited edition doll made of her. $49.99 for a little mini her. Weird? I love her just as much as the next person but, she's gotten so big so fast. She came out of nowhere with a song about kissing girls! You know just as much as the next person when you first heard that song you turned it up to see if you heard her right. The song itself is so controversial, the audience it reaches is HUGE! My only worry is the effect it's having on younger girls. If growing up wasn't confusing enough now you've got to throw that in the mix. "I kissed a girl, is that okay? Does this mean I'm a lesbian?" I can't imagine the questions some girls must be asking themselves nowadays.
I love the song, I love the message, I love how comfortable she is with her sexuality because lord knows the industry needs a strong female right now.
However, the song is so over played that whenever I hear it now...I press next. I'm gonna give it three years before I listen to it again and see if that helps at all.

I've been listening to old Appleseed Cast and Braid lately. You should too.

Yesterday in my event class we started talking about how bands have close to no rights. At least in a local sense. Bands today are getting cheated out of so much money it kills.
Like vendors who bring in 50,000 at the door and the bands they have playing that night see none of that money.

On that note...Fall Out Boy's video for "I Don't Care"
After seeing the version on youtube, I do think the video is funny and sends a good message. I loved the cameo's from everybody mostly Marks though.
However for them to release a version which wasn't the one the band approved is horrible. To go against an artist who put the time, effort and money into a project only for it to get thrown back in their face is shameful. It would be different if the cut wasn't Nokia phones. If I recall this isn't the first Fall Out Boy video with too many shots of a phone. Wasn't A Little Less Sixteen Candles full of them too?
It just reminds me time and time again how the industry is changing and how musicians are slowly losing there right to artistic freedom.
Some people who aren't FOB fans will find this whole ordeal amusing, but the select few who are fans or are musicians struggling or famous will see what's wrong here.
No one deserves this kind of treatment and I hope the people responsible for this come forward. The guys of FOB have been doing this a long time and I really hope there wasn't some fine print that was overlooked when signing the contract. Somehow I don't see business man Pete Wentz missing something like that though.

What has music become now? I mean it's obvious it's no longer about the music. I just can't get though my head how deceitful some industry men can be. I wish I could go back in time when it was just about the music. It wasn't about appearance, and what would sell...look at it this way do you think Chuck Berry would have made it in today music industry? No he wouldn't have. The industry would look at him and not see a selling point. So many good musicians go overlooked because they aren't what society considers good looking. Shouldn't we be able to decided what is attractive and what isn't?

I wonder more and more why'd I want to involve myself in something that is so two faced. I guess I still hold some kind of hope that things will get better. That the industry will take some drastic turn and go back to being all about the artist. I hope that at some point they realize the way their going about things is all wrong. That if they took the time to work up an artist, their shelf life would last longer.

Tell me something, is it the cool thing now to comment a band members personal site with "...school sucked today..."
I don't get it, do you honestly thinking commenting them everyday and telling them about every fucking detail of you're day is going to make them care? No...it won't. I don't mean to be a downer here and I am certainly not trying to speak for anyone, because I'm sure these people you look up to care about you. When I mean care however I mean they care about their fan base as a whole, caring about every single one of you would take a lot of effort on their part.
I'd also like to point out how creepy it is when not only do you comment about your day to someone who doesn't care but you pretend like you have some intricate relationship with them via the internet. Are fans so bored nowadays that the only way they are satisfied with themselves is warping their reality?
I could go forever listening to the bands I listen to and never meet a single one of them, in all honesty so far I've met a few and I was better off not having met them. It ruined it for me, their lack of enthusiasm and fake smiles. I rather catch them on a day they actually want to meet fans then on a day when their forced.

I guess when thought about deeper this all goes back to a simple solution. If the band you're so in love with happens to be attractive then the world will be in love with them too. I sometimes wish that until you're mind reaches a certain maturity level...you're blind. This way decisions made about anything (in the case of this blog music)...it would be a little more thought out. The bands you listen to wouldn't be based on what kind of shit he had on that day, or how his hair looks. I honestly believe that young music listeners today don't know what the fuck their listening to, because if they open up their ears they'd realize it's all the same but with different faces.

Maybe I'm missing something, maybe they really do care about what you and the other 20 girls did with their day at school. Maybe they'll comment you back and tell you how awesome you are and how they can't wait to meet you at one of their shows. Maybe they'll fall in love with you and you two will forever be together. It's good to admire, its good to dream and its even better to have hereos to look up too, but how is it possible that it's these guys? I don’t know, I guess I just can’t take new pop punk music seriously. They all sound like carbon copies of Blink 182 to me.

Take one song from the following bands, and listen to them one after the other and tell me they don't sound alike. I'm talking musically here, break downs, hooks, lyrics about the same shit. Step out of the box you've grown so accustom to and actually listen to the songs you choose

These guys look alike to me, and to be honest their music sounds alike only Rocket Summer sounds better. They both record all instruments, and only use a full band live. I think Fueled By Ramen is a little jealous of The Rocket Summers success and needed to find a way to latch on to something like it. Fueled By Ramen eats musicians.....

I swear everyday more and more I find something new to complain about. I promise that I actually do like music, I guess I'm just finally realizing and accepting a different side.

Go listen to some ELP or Styx. That's been my fix lately.

So I'm new to Buzznet. I have however been lurking for a long time and I guess I finally decided to give into it all.
This whole thing isn't going to be me bitching about my life, but more for me to get my musical frustrations out. I have so many thoughts on the music industry today that I figured someone somewhere might like to hear the ranting of a 19 year-old college student. This is also just for me to get the ideas that I have into some tangible form that I can refer to later.
I'm not about to lie about the bands I will talk about in the future, the information I give out will be legit and I'll even back it up with sources.

Next person I'm gonna whine about...Katy Perry. I like her music, but is she really going to go anywhere past this album.
